R3HAB lays down a driving, grungy bassline to set the tone, while Shaggy’s signature vocals and rhythmic melodies up the ante to booty-shaking levels. The “Fuego” remix is just as fire as its title, bringing to mind wanton dance parties on the beach that last until well past dawn. No matter where the pandemic has you holed up, you’ll want to get on the closest dancefloor right after pressing “play” on this one.

“We smashed hip-hop, reggae, and dance into this remix, and it sounds hot like its name. Steven has so much talent, and Shaggy is a legend, so it was an honor to remix their record.” – R3HAB on the remix of “Fuego”

Lush vocals and an infectious beat build a captivating charm to keep on repeat

CHICAGO | JULY 10, 2020 – Chicago R&B artist Matt B shares his new single “Deep” today. Blending R&B, hip hop, and pop, Matt B builds a captivating charm of talent. Warm, lush vocals dance over an infectious beat, building into a powerful single.

The track came to life while Matt was in the studio, working on his upcoming album with producer and Grammy award-winning engineer Sam Thomas and 9x Grammy award-winning producer Bryan-Michael Cox. “Sam had some records he wanted to play me that he and Tricky Stewart had been working on,” shared Matt. “One of the first demos he played was ‘Deep’. I instantly connected with it and wanted to cut it right away. When we started vocal tracking with Tricky, I made some tweaks to the record; especially in the bridge. I knew right there that we had a banger that all my fans would love.” The lyrics reflect on the frustration of an unbalanced relationship, and the need to move on when love isn’t returned. Thematically dark, it also provides an empowering stand, of taking the reins to move on.

Sam Thomas commented on the recording experience, “Matt has an amazing range of vocals and his delivery is on point. It was a blast cutting this song with him, the recording process was rather quick as he headed to the booth, Tricky and me at the board, lights down low, candles lit, and an R&B Star on the mic. Matt was amazing in the booth. Takes direction very well and crafted this hit into his own. R&B is far from dead and Matt B showcases that.” Sickpen and Patrick Postlewait also contributed to the production, the team delivering an R&B gem. Postlewait shared, “This track came together organically on one of our many late nights, and it has that sort of after midnight vibe to it. The music ended up sounding a bit cinematic, like being out at night walking alone with your thoughts. Sickpen has this great ability to interpret the feeling of a track on the spot and tell a story. I’m always amazed at the stirring melodies he creates, whether it’s a fun song, or one like this, about heartbreak and separation.”

With international success, Matt B has topped the Japan iTunes R&B Chart multiple times, including his debut album Love & War, hit single “Plain Girl”, and sophomore album Dive most notably rising to #1 on iTunes R&B Chart in Japan in less than 24 hours. Previously signed to StarBase Records in Japan, “Deep” comes ahead of his upcoming debut U.S. album titled EDEN. With collaboration from Bryan-Michael Cox and Tricky Stewart, it’s slated for a 2021 release.

“Deep” is out everywhere today, including SpotifyApple MusicTIDAL, and Soundcloud.

Türküm Explores Complex Music and Emotions on his Personal Bass-Driven New Album “Heartbreak and Regrets”

Artist: Türküm
Title: Heartbreak and Regrets (Album)
Label: self-released
Release date: 12 June, 2020

Download / Stream

After releasing his personal debut “Anti-Sober” album last year, Türküm has built a reputation on making music that is both sonically pleasing and personally poignant. Such is the case with his new “Heartbreak and Regrets” LP, an eight-track journey into two of humanity’s most complex emotions. Divided into two parts, the LP nonetheless tells a story through a melodic, bass-driven style that, like Türküm himself, can’t be stuck in a genre box. The cinematic opening track “Maverick” signals to the listener that they’re tuned into something big and those dark bass elements continue into the vocal track “Wait for Me,” with lyrics that evoke a wistful hopefulness. “Games” follows along in the same vein, with reverberating basslines and distorted male vocals this time, while “As Long As I Got” brings with it an urban, dancefloor-friendly vibe. The delicate melodies of the interlude “Prayers” open the door for Türküm’s most melodic productions of his body of work, “Killing My Dream” and “Running Through My Mind.” He ventures into new sound territory here with expert prowess, creating soundscapes that are both dark and light at once. “Nightrider” concludes the LP with the most techno influence we hear on the album, featuring a driving bassline with swarming synths that leave you begging for a dancefloor. Türküm has once again managed to make a masterpiece with “Heartbreak and Regrets,” capturing a spectrum of both emotions and musical styles. Read on for detailed information about this talented artist’s inspiration behind the new album:

“My heart fills up with joy when I meet the diehard fans of my music. One of the kids that I once met asked if he could talk to me privately, and told me that my music changed his life, and wanted a picture as a memory. When moments like that occur, I look back and thank everyone who led me to where I am today. Having people message me from across the world puts a smile on my face. The messages they sent resonate with me so well, that I really feel that they mean every single word they type out to me.” – Türküm on the “Heartbreak” part of the album

“The regret side of the album has many feelings built into it. Everyone does regret some choices and mistakes they’ve made in their lives, and when it hits you at your low point, it really hurts. I get messages saying I’m wasting my time and potential on the wrong side of the globe. I feel like an outcast in Turkey, been living here for the last 6 years, and the cultural difference is crazy. I was born in Greece and grew up in Canada, Lebanon, and Germany. I’ve been intertwined with different cultures and communities, growing up in different countries constantly shows you how complex the world is.” – Türküm on the “Regrets” part of the album

Turkish indie artist Türküm may be a relative newcomer, but he’s quickly established a commendable reputation based on the quality and production style. Though he has kept his branding and imagery minimalist and enigmatic, his atmospheric and often dark and ominous sound have proved to impress both fans and tastemakers from a myriad of genres. Türküm’s music has been signed to Elysian Records and Lowly Palace and frequents some of Spotify’s biggest playlists, including Mint, Trap Mojitos, Fresh Electronic, and the infamous Beast Mode. Follow this mysterious maestro on Spotify and social media to keep up to date with more sinister-yet-groovy tunes coming soon!

After a mysterious hiatus, Cityzen returns to CYB3RPVNK with “Watch Me,” his party-ready first single of 2020. The track delivers deep, driving and bouncy basslines with plenty of percussive melodies and a catchy vocal riff; Cityzen began developing this sound last fall with tracks like the funky house anthem “Crunk” and “Unicorns on a Rocket Launcher.” His career may have only started last year with his debut on R3HAB’s CYB3RPVNK, but he’s already distinguished himself as one of the scene’s most promising up and comers. Let’s hope this is the first of more new releases from our favorite red glasses-wearing artist!

Underground House Music by Cityzen

Although not much is known about Cityzen yet, we can be extremely positive about three noticeable attributes: his affinity for the color red, unique glasses, and his desire to give people the intense beats that one would imagine hearing on the metallic streets of a futuristic metropolitan. Perhaps Cityzen can live in the past and the future at the same time, giving him the ability to merge vintage hardware like Moog synthesizers with futuristic house rhythms of the modern age. His sound continues to evolve with every newly released track, from his debut single “Sirius” to previous “Planet Rock” and now “Misomaniac.” Cityzen is on the verge of something huge and previously unimagined – and all the world can do is wait. Armed with his sparkling glasses and affinity for the color red, Cityzen brings to life a crossover of old and new that will become the unique sound of the next generation.
